Francois Peron National Park is an ideal destination for bush camping, four-wheel driving, bush-walking and beach fishing, along with swimming and boating within the Shark Bay Marine Park.
At the end of a rough, sandy track, this was the location of a pearling camp in the late 1880s and old pearl shells can still be seen in the area. More recently a small fish canning factory and then a fish freezer preserved fish for market. The freezer closed in 1947.
The campground has a toilet. There is no drinking water so ensure you bring enough for your stay.
Small boats can be launched from the beach although there are no facilities for this and vehicle access is through very soft sand.
This camping area is accessible only by high-clearance four-wheel drives. Tyre pressures must be reduced for the soft sand conditions. Caravans are not recommended due to the narrow and soft sand tracks.
Bookings do not apply at this campground. It operates on a first-come first-served basis.
Park entry fees apply.
