Can I hire a car/4WD or boat?

There are two car hire operators in Denham:

Shark Bay Car Hire for general car hire, please note you are not permitted to take the vehicle off-road (which includes Francois Peron National Park)

Shark Bay Boat Hire
Shark Bay Boat Hire has a range of boats to be hired to be used in the open water of Shark Bay.  A recreational skippers licence is required to hire the boat.

Can I access the Francois Peron National park with a 2WD?

Unfortunately no. You can access the Peron Heritage Precinct in a two-wheel drive, however the 7 km road in is unsealed and so caution should be taken. From there on it is high clearance four-drive only, as it is deep soft sand. For more information on four-wheel(4WD) driving in Shark Bay, please download this leaflet
